Emergency Vet Care for Chantrelle

Over the weekend, our senior girl Chantrelle began showing signs of what initially appeared to be another UTI. We had an incredibly difficult time finding veterinary care for her, but thankfully, @spartanvetsc helped guide us and squeezed Chantrelle into an appointment at the very end of an already incredibly busy day today. We are so, so grateful they did.

Unfortunately, we still don’t know exactly what is happening with our girl.

Chantrelle is very anemic, and one of the concerns right now is possible hemolytic anemia. Bloodwork has been sent out so we can hopefully get a better picture of what is happening internally and figure out where we go from here. So for right now, things are still very much up in the air.

Today’s veterinary visit alone was just over $500. Tomorrow, we need to pick up additional supplements, food, and other things to support her while we wait for answers, putting us close to $600 already before any additional testing or treatment she may need.

We will post our veterinary receipt in our stories for transparency.

Of course we are already in the middle of asking for help with our hay fundraiser. We know everyone has been giving what they can, and we are incredibly grateful.

But right now, we really, really need help for Chantrelle. She is very sick. And whatever comes next, we want to be able to give her every bit of care she needs.
