Millet
Rescued June 5, 2026
Millet was rescued alongside Lentil from a large-scale neglect case after spending the first months of her life confined to a small dog kennel inside a collapsing barn without adequate food or care. She arrived at Wild Pines with a body condition score of just 1 out of 9 after spending her young life fighting to survive instead of simply being a calf. Safe meals, soft places to rest, and the freedom to explore were things she had never truly known until she arrived at sanctuary.
Millet has the gentlest heart. She's thoughtful, sweet, and takes her time learning about the world around her. Watching her confidence blossom has been a beautiful reminder that healing doesn't always happen all at once. With every new friendship, every playful moment, and every quiet step forward, Millet is becoming the happy, carefree calf she was always meant to be.
