Morel

Rescued August 5, 2023

Morel’s rescue story began when we were contacted by a family seeking help for their aging parent who could no longer keep up with the daily care of his goats. Along with her companions Elmwood and Chanterelle, she became one of the first goats to join the Wild Pines Sanctuary family, helping to start a new chapter for the sanctuary and for her own life of safety and freedom.

A true independent spirit, Morel prefers quiet and space to herself. She is shy and skeptical of everyone, even her goat friends, and does not like to be touched or closely approached. While she is very wary of dogs, she lives comfortably alongside them as long as they leave her alone. Morel embodies a calm independence and reminds us that every animal deserves to feel secure and respected on their own terms.

Sponsor an animal

Every resident here eats, sees a vet, and has somewhere warm to sleep because someone chose to pay for it. Monthly sponsorship is the steadiest way to keep that true.
